Time flies!

My oh my where did the summer go? Heck, where did fall go? Halloween is fast approaching, and I can't wait! I have my girls costumes almost finished, they are both going to be mermaids. I got the idea for the costume from Heather Baily's blog. I should be finished with them by the end of tonight, I will post some pics of these adorable costumes, the minute they are done! My halloween costume is coming along quite nicely also. Every year we have an adult costume party, and you MUST dress up to come! It really is so much fun. 2 years ago I was a pirate wench and Brad was Jack sparrow, last year I was a punk rocker/gothic chick. Take a look...

Love to Swing...

My almost 7 year old daughter runs to the swing set everytime we go to my mom's house. Last Saturday, we decided to do a surprize photoshoot to get some summer pictures in my mom's beautiful flower garden. This is the first layout I've done with the pictures I took of my girls. I'm just loving the new kit I purchased at Pickle Berry Pop "foxymoron" by Tara Dunston Designs.

2 new digi creations

I was looking through some digi layouts today and was inspired to scrap some for my album.

This is my dd on her 4th birthday, what a wonderfully happy day!



Here is a layout of me. I don't normally do layouts with myself as the "main" focal point, mostly because I'm always the one behind the camera. I had my daughters who are 4 and 6 do a little photo shoot of me. They both had a blast taking pictures, and I must admit, it was a little bit fun to be the one who was posing!

My new love...Ipod

Okay, I know your reading this title and probably thinking I'm off my rocker,LOL! My hubby is really into golfing, and last year he bought this really cool square head driver from callaway. So now this year he wanted to have the matching 3 wood to go with this driver. So I saved all my pennies from my ebay sales, and I finally had enough to buy him this super cool golf club. When it comes in, (I had to special order it), it is like, May 5th. So now I'm in a dilema, I don't know weather I should make him wait until Fathers Day to get his gift, but I'm just as excited to watch him open the darn thing as he will be when he opens it! So, I decide to go ahead and give him the club. Needless to say he is happy as a clam, and just loves the new club. Okay, so now I think he is feeling a little guilty, because Mother's Day was litterally 2 days away and he has no idea what to get for his wonderful wife (that's me, LOL) I ponder the idea of what do I want???? I threw around a few options that didn't pan out, for one reason or another. Then I found it. I've been wanting an ipod for awhile, but I'm a little intimidated by them. I don't know why, I just am. So i'm surfing the web, looking for an Ipod, in pink of course. I happen to run across the Ipod Touch. OMG, from the instant i see this thing I KNOW it must be mine! I spend 4 days researching it, each day I get a little more excited about a new feature it has. FINALLY, the day has come that I get to go pick it up from the store. Let me tell you, if your looking for a new ipod/mp3 player with some added features this is the way to go. I got the smallest memory and it is 8 Gig. I don't think I'll ever fill that up! I can put my digi layouts on it, it holds a jillion songs. It has built in Wi-Fi. There is a planner/calendar. It really is the neatest electronic device i've ever owned! I think I'm in love :)

headstrong...

This morning my 12 year-old stepson was in a huff, because he had no clean pants to wear to school. He had lots of shorts, but none that matched the shirt he wanted to wear. We tried to explain to him, that clothes laying on your bedroom floor will never make it into the washing machine! He finally found some shorts to wear, but now he needed a "short" pair of socks! Oh my the trauma of being in 6th grade, LOL! I remeber the pressure of wanting to look "cool" and have all the newest coolest clothes. I remember having a MAJOR additude with my parents, and those words they yelled to me as I slammed my bedroom door, you know the ones, "I hope YOUR kids are just like YOU!" Well, they are, they are ALL just like me. Oh lord, help me! LOL!

The things kids say....

Tonight, as I was tucking my girls into bed, Kenadie needed some cough medicine. So I trudge back up the stairs to get the medicine, and a glass of water to wash it down. It is Triaminic, and she hates it! So I get back down into her room, and her younger sister Teigan, the one who just turned 4, has the following conversation with me while Kenadie is getting her medicine:

Mommy: "here is your cough medicine, Kenadie, drink it up"

Kenadie: (drinking her medicine and washing it down with the water)

Teigan: "i think i am getting sick too, can I have some?"

Mommy: "Teigan, this medicine is for kenadie, so she will stop coughing"

Teigan: "I think I need some fart medicine"

Needless to say, I laughed outloud and had tears streaming down my cheeks from this comment. I need to document this on a layout, it really is priceless!

whoa! What happened to me last week? Just now, I mean right this second I realized I never posted the Friday Freebie. Adventures of a 4 year old's birthday....

My youngest daughter, Teigan, turned 4 on Monday. We celebrated by going to the bowling alley, or as she likes to call it...."the bowling pin" After all the excitment of bowling we headed back to our house to enjoy a cookout with the fam. The day was exhausting, but worth every minute of the tiredness at the end of the day. Here are a few pics...

Clutter...

It's everywhere! I'm in the process of trying to reorganize my spaces, yes you heard me spaces, plural. All of my spaces are cluttered. I'm not really sure why I don't like to throw things away, but I do like to keep every piece of every scrap of paper, ever in the history of the universe. Okay, maybe it hasn't been that long, but you get my drift. Right now i'm living in organized disorganization. You know the kind. When your child asks you where the cordless phone is, and your answer is, "look under the pile of artwork from school, oh not that pile, the one to the left of the pile of junk mail and old magazines." Clutter is becoming an issue with me. I am having a huge creative block and I'm begining to realize this clutter is probably the problem. Clear the clutter, clear the mind, focus on my creativity!
My list of things to do today consists of the following:
Sort and organize toys in the downstairs family room
Send the sorted toys to my moms for her rummage sale
Organize the toys and books in the upstairs living room

I know this doesn't sound like alot, but we have at least 2 years worth of Santa down in the family room and most of if should probably go, so I'm off. Off to clear the clutter!

My poor poor neglected blog. I have been running like a chicken with my head cut off, and my blog has felt the brunt of not posting. :( I've been working on some great digi stuff for my friends and for some new freebies. I've decided that each Friday I will give away a new digi kit, or some quick pages! Since it is Friday today we may as well start it off right :)

Well I got some not so good news today, ACOT contacted me and I wasn't selected for their design team :( We got MORE stinkin' snow last night, and I have to work today. What a crappy day. I can only hope tommorrow will be better. On the bright side of things, I did finish up an order from BTDL Boutique, and I've started the cutest little birthday tin with mini album to list on eBay. Hopefully this will pull me out of my funk. Thanks for listening to me. I hope I didn't depress anyone too badly, LOL! Try to keep smiling..........and I'll try too!

When you least expect it...

Good things do happen! I was checking my email and low and behold, Peppermint Creative is having a designer call too! OMG, I would so love to be a part of that team. I was just so excited I had to come share, with all 2 of you who read me, LOL!! It feels good to be excited about something, maybe this will break my dull-dromes!

The winter Blah's....

I'm in a funk. I have zero creativity flowing through me, and we have about a gazillion feet of snow on the ground. I need to break out of this winter blah mode, and get into a spring, fresh, creative, fun mode......any tips?? I am sending in my application to sell my digital designs at A Cherry On Top. Keep your fingers crossed for me. IF and thats a major if, I get on with them, they will be my very first official digital store. I'm throwing around the idea of joining a creative team too, but with my commitments to BTDL right now, I'm not sure I have time to join 3 teams. I either need more hours in the day, or I need to quit my "real" job, LOL, yeah right!

Well kids, it looks like I'm going to have to put selling my digi stuff on hold, at least from my blog. I was going to get Christine Smith's blog selling kit, and she is no longer offering it :( I did put my digi creations in our BTDL (Better Than Doing Laundry) Store, which is now up and running, so if you have time click the link at the top of the page and check us out. Any who, back to my orginal thought here.
